About Alexander

Alexander Haupt is now Honorary Associate Professor at the sa国际传媒. His research in predominantely in the areas of public and environmental economics. Alexander analyses key challenges that societies face in the presence of increasing economic integration and global environmental problems. His publication topics range from international environmental agreements and energy efficiency to international tax competition and skilled labour mobility.

Over the years, Alexander has been taking on various roles at Plymouth Business School as Associate Professor (Reader) in Economics, including Head of the Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance, Member of the School Executive Team and Lead of the Research Group Markets, Innovation and Competition. In the past, he was also responsible for the Business School's submission to the Research Excellence Framework. Alexander held positions at the European University Viadrina and the Universities of Regensburg and Mainz before joining the sa国际传媒 and, more recently, at the University of Freiburg.聽

His research visits include a one-year stay at the University of Colorado at Boulder and stays at the University of Munich, Beijing Normal University and the Max Planck Institute for Tax Law and Public Finance. Alexander is a Research Fellow of CESifo in Munich and a member of the Committees for Environmental and Resource Economics and for Population Economics of the German Economic Association.
